Walking and Shelters

Walking and Shelters

The natural areas crossed by the various routes in Andorra make it an excellent idea to follow at least one of the marked itineraries on your stay here. Indeed, a walk along these historic paths lets you acquire firsthand information on the country’s valuable cultural heritage, with its Romanesque monuments, its legacy of the farmers and stockbreeders, and its reminiscences of the old crafts of the Andorran people.
One of the opportunities offered by Ordino is guided walking tours both in the Sorteny Valley Nature Park with its photographic safaris, and excursions along different mountain trails, where guides can show you some unforgettable landscapes featuring lakes, mountains, peaks, panoramic views and more.

The importance of the shelters: Along the routes, with their paths of different difficulty and duration, there are a number of shelters where it is a good idea to rest or spend the night if you plan to take a long walk lasting more than one day. Andorra is very careful to keep these facilities in a good state of repair. Indeed, the whole territory is maintained in excellent condition, which makes hiking and Nordic walking very popular and safe activities in the Principality.
